Our politicians are failing the ideals of our State

With the reaction of our politicians to PSNI comments, I was reminded of the self-serving agenda of those we send to Dail Eireann.

At the drop of a hat, they resort to eye-gouging, regardless of the consequences this may have for others.

Fianna Fail, as they search for relevance, have insisted that while they might be bad, their opponents are worse — Hobson’s choice. The Labour Party has turned to blaming charities for the failure of the State to provide citizens with basics such as housing.

“Nations are born in the hearts of poets, they wither and die in the hands of politician” — how depressingly true.
