Only one Government TD had courage to vote ‘no’

I must congratulate the Labour Party, especially Eamon Gilmore and Kathleen Lynch, in the Dáil: they have put many more people in poverty and on the breadline.

With Christmas coming they should be helping people, not crucifying them, with all these austerity measures.

I hope they can sleep in their beds at night with a clear conscious.

The people won’t forget what they have done to the people who voted for them in the last election.

Labour are spineless to the core, with all broken promises.

Only one TD had the guts to go against his party.

I say well done to him for his actions to vote against austerity cuts against the poor and most vulnerable people in society.

With more austerity cuts coming down the line in the New Year, I hope the Labour Party and Fine Gael TDs can have a Happy Christmas because us ordinary people will not.
