Eircom has embarked on a major advertising campaign. But my experience of their service is a cautionary tale.
I received my ‘bundle’ service today, having contracted a calendar month ago, after assurances from them that “Christmas would not make any difference”.
Efforts to expedite delivery were frustrating, with the worst corporate service I have experienced in 40 years.
Just a few examples: their text messages are curt and blocked, so you cannot reply; phone support is a joke, with one department claiming it cannot communicate with another; and installation requires two separate technicians visiting over three weeks.
Even when they make the technician appointment, it is a for a particular day but not for a specific time.
Incidentally, my letter to the customer service manager, which I posted on December 29 , remains unanswered. Finally, I was billed for service to the end of December, but was refunded after protest.
