Lead by example

AS an unemployed person on the dole I want politicians’ salaries cut to bring them in line with other countries.

They should also get rid of the state cars and let them live off their earnings like everyone else. The garda drivers can then be returned to more worthwhile duties. We need the politicians to lead by example.

The minimum wage and social welfare should be cut also to encourage people to take up employment and help businesses to be more competitive. No one wants to take a cut but the reality is that current spending cannot be maintained. The country cannot afford it. At the moment we are totally out of step with the rest of Europe. Finally, we need people to spend sensibly. Buy Irish and support Irish jobs and industry.
