Joan is the whipping girl for Fine Gael policies

The news headlines that Joan Burton could well be poleaxed on February 26 appears shocking at first but maybe not that surprising on reflection. Well if you decide to arrest half of your constituency, what can you expect?

The water protest issue should have been handled more deftly and with tact (notwithstanding the fact that she was held in her car against her will and should not have been).

Unfortunately for Joan and Labour they have allowed themselves to be the whipping boys and girls for Fine Gael policies.

Labour bore the brunt for water charges, not Fine Gael. And now Joan will pay the ultimate price.
