Irish stag party wore Hitler masks near Jewish quarter in Prague

I write to you as owner of Caffreys Irish Bar in Prague where I have operated Irish bars for 22 years.

This is my first letter to a newspaper on the subject of stag parties.

We get a lot of stag parties here in Prague — quiet ones, good ones, bad ones and rarely, truly repulsive ones.

Up to 90% are from the UK, the remainder mainly from Ireland.

There are two in the ‘truly repulsive’ category that really stand out and it is with sadness and shame I must state that both came from Ireland.

The group of about 25/30 guys from Cork who were here last weekend should be absolutely ashamed of their behaviour.

They were a disgrace to themselves, their families and a huge embarrassment to Ireland.

Sitting only a stone’s throw from the Jewish Quarter, their wearing of Hitler masks was not just insensitive, their abuse of quite elderly customers who pointed this out was shameful and their vulgar treatment of waitresses as sex objects, words cannot describe.

This is only a small summary of their actions.

Some of these guys may have parents who care and may be reading this.

They should not be let outside the door and to the poor person who may marry one of them — you are in for a hell of a shock.

It saddens me to write this letter about people from my country which I love so much but these guys should be put away.
