Gogarty should be forced to resign

HOW absolutely eloquent is Paul Gogarty, the Green TD who also happens to be the chair of an education committee for which he is paid an additional €20,000.

Therein lies a clue as to the financial distress of the country. Thousands of teachers, albeit well paid, work countless extra hours for no additional pay because it is part and parcel of their work. So should chairing this educational committee be part and parcel of this foul-mouthed TD’s work. Ultimately, however, the citizens who voted him into office are to blame. They have exactly what they deserve.

Finally, how woefully appropriate that someone as eloquent as this TD should have anything to do with education. Is it any wonder the youth of the country have lost all respect for our political system and those who exploit it under the guise of being TDs?

Shame on the deputy and shame on a system that allows him to continue in office. He should be forced to resign forthwith with no pension.
