Environmental coverage

Just a quick word to let you know how much I appreciated the article “Tapped Out? (Forum, May 23).

I have noticed, and welcomed the frequent appearance of articles in your paper concerning environmental issues. It is important for the media to shed light on the state of our global environment – a topic that dwarfs every other when looked at from an objective point of view.

As a footnote, I also found the article interesting from an Irish viewpoint due to our recent repositioning as regard to free water.

Perhaps we do not appreciate enough how lucky we are to have our water? California is seen by many Irish people as a utopia – the dream place to live. However, the grass is certainly not greener on the other side.
