Don’t let corporates into primary care delivery

The government have made it clear that if GPs do not ‘play ball’ on their health policy, there are others in the health sector who will. Presumably they are alluding to private companies.

Is this is the way people want primary care delivered? Corporates will operate in economically viable areas. Someone in an office rather than your doctor will decide whether you get the test or treatment you need and the charities and altruistic will be left looking after the non-profitable chronically sick, elderly and dying.

We need discussion and long term planning on more socially equitable form of healthcare for the future — and we need it now.
