Cable car would drive Spike Island tourism

Lack of access is Spike Island’s greatest impediment to becoming a major visitor attraction.

Investment is needed. Various solutions have been proposed, but they are unimaginative.
I propose a cable car between Cobh, the proposed new public amenity on Haulbowline, and Spike Island. This would give access to Spike from either side of the Lee.
I know I am proposing a major investment, out of all proportion to the simple problem of access to Spike.
I am thinking in terms of something like the London Eye or the Eiffel Tower. Something that solves an access problem, but which exploits the journey as its primary selling point, as its attraction.
