Animals’ parentage vital — never mind children

As a veterinary surgeon I have watched over the years how we have recorded with increasing accuracy the geneology and origin of all offspring under our care.

We attempt to know the biologic parentage, ie, the sire and the dam, of all calves, foals and even puppies. This means we know more about the animals we treat, and breeding too closely is avoided.

And now I am being asked to vote to change the law for my own species, the human species, so that children will not know their parents?
