Festival weekend - All work and no play ...

IF it’s true, and it must be, that all work and no play makes Johnny a dull boy, then it must also be true that nothing but misery and complaint, disappointment and denial make Johnny tedious and dispiriting company.

This bank holiday weekend we all have a chance to shake off the cobwebs and celebrate being alive.

Right across the country, festivals, sports events and performances beg to be enjoyed and it would be churlish not to do so. Especially as so much voluntary effort has been committed to having a good time.

The December budget will be with us soon enough and this October weekend, as winter closes in around us, we should all remind each other what a bank holiday weekend is for.
