WATCH: This emotional video sums up ’all the feels’ from Saturday

"I felt our family wasn’t recognised as being a family. It is now and I can’t thank the people of Ireland enough for what they did last Friday."

Saturday will go down in history as one of the most important, progressive and most emotional days in the history of the Irish state.

GAZE International LGBT Film Festival Dublin has summarised the day into this short, three and a half minute video and it's hard not get a little emotional.

From before the ballot boxes opened to the point where the final results were announced, the video brings out the best bits, highlighting how proud to be Irish everyone involved was on that day.

Someone who has campaigned harder than anyone for the rights of LGBT people was Senator David Norris who had a very strong message to the people of Ireland and the world.

"I have quite a powerful, carrying voice, but the message from this small, independent republic to the entire world is one of dignity and freedom and tolerance."

So many feels!
