These world champion Irish dancers remind us of why we are proud to be Irish

If you listen very closely you might be able to hear toe-tapping, body-shaking and knee cracking all over the world today, in celebration of International Dance Day.

So it would be rude not to showcase the steps that set us out from the rest, and who better to demonstrate than James Devine and David Geaney.

To duo - who together hold eight world Irish dancing titles - have put together this clip that mixes Irish dancing with footage from some of Ireland’s proudest moments in politics, history and sports.

Reminding us of why we are proud to be Irish, for the year that’s in it and all.

Working under the name Velocity, they posted the video titled ’The Rising’ on Facebook last week and it already has over 87,000 views.

James also holds the Guinness World Records for the fastest feet in the world with an astonishing 38 taps per second - so you’re in for a treat.
