Remember the romantic elderly man who was filmed reuniting with a lady in an airport? The loving couple have been tracked down, and their story is more romantic than we thought.

A video of the pair meeting at Los Angeles International Airport was filmed by Chris Perry who posted it on Facebook earlier this week, saying "this is true love".

The video has been viewed 30m times on Facebook, and Inside Edition have found the couple.

80-year-old Bernie Mills was waiting at the airport for his 75-year-old wife of five years, Carol.

Bernie and Carol were both married and subsequently widowed. They met each other through online dating site eHarmony and were married in 2010.

In the video, Carol was returning from a two-week trip on the East Coast, where she attended a family wedding. It was the longest the couple had ever been apart since their wedding.

Bernie waited for Carol at the airport, holding flowers and chocolates, for over an hour.

"I was just so excited to see her coming through that door. I was like, ’oh boy I’ve got my baby back again’," Bernie says.

"It was the first time we had ever really been separated," Carol explains.

She says they were surprised to discover their meeting had been viewed so many times.

"My daughter said the video has gone viral," Carols says. "And I said, ‘What’s viral?’"
