It was an early start for the eager participants as they arrived at CIT Sports grounds for the Cork Primary Schools Sports. 

Schools from across the county enjoyed a day of glorious sunshine and gripping drama on the track.

The day started with PRO Gearóid Ó Murchú welcoming everyone to the competition.

Laura Spillane and Cloughduv National School had been training hard ahead of the event.

The Rathduff National School, joined by teacher Karen O'Sullivan, had brought their school spirit with them.

Clare O'Donnell's Scoil an Athr Tadhg National School, Carrignavar were thrilled with the sunshine.

Many of the races were hotly contested affairs which thrilled coaches, parents and fans. Check out the action in the video below.
