Check out the revival of the ancient Nemean Games

Before the Olympics Games begin in August, athletes from around the globe took part in a different kind of sporting event in southern Greece, the Nemean Games.

The sixth edition of the tournament is part of an attempt to revive the ancient Greek games.

The Nemean Games consist of a number of races, including a 90-metre sprint on a straight dirt course at a stadium over 2,000 years old and 7.5-kilometre run

The ancient games were held at the height of ancient Greek civilisation, often putting a halt to wars and hostilities between rival states – an approach we could learn from today.
