Volunteers invited to test strength of Chinese glass bridge...with sledgehammers!

A glass bridge in China was put to the test with volunteers and staff offered the chance to prove its safety.

The suspension bridge built 300m high over the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon was the brainchild of an Israel architect and is the largest of its kind in the world.

While sledgehammers were the order of the day, none managed to break through the glass structure and even a 15-tonne car manoeuvred safely over the bridge.
