Wexford Youths 0, Derry City 0: Wexford Youths pulled off a battling draw with Derry City taking a valuable point in their fight against relegation in their Premier Division game at Ferrycarrig Park last night.
Derry found the net after 31 minutes but Patterson was brought back for offside.
Wexford Youths were keen to get forward on the resumption with Shane Dempsey having a twenty meter effort fly wide after 53 minutes.
Derry City should have taken the lead before that when Nathan Boyle found himself in possession in front of goal but delayed his shot allowing keeper Doyle to get down and keep the shot out with his outstretched leg.
Fifteen minutes from the end Rory Patterson went down in the area but referee Tommy Connolly wasn’t impressed.
Five minutes later Derry forced a freekick just outside the area to the right of goal but McNamee saw his kick crash into the wall although Schubert should have scored from the breaking ball but lost his footing as he was about to shoot from a few meters out.
