Loser Messi makes a meal of it

When an international star loses a bet to his team-mates you half expect him to be involved in some hair-brained dare.

It’s a little different in Barcelona.

Lionel Messi has been showing off his culinary skills after posting a video of himself cooking dinner for his team-mates — after losing a bet. He posted a video and picture collage through his Instagram page on Tuesday evening with a caption that read: ‘I lost a bet... And I had to cook.’

The 26-year-old could be seen cooking meat before plating up perfectly carved pieces. He also posted an image showing off his impressive effort.

The Barcelona superstar has suffered one of his more difficult seasons after an injury kept him sidelined in November and saw Cristiano Ronaldo pick up the Fifa Ballon D’Or ahead of him.

Despite his limited time on the pitch Messi has continued to find the back of the net and is just two goals away from becoming the leading club goalscorer in Spain.
