Leicester close in on Kramaric

Leicester are close to completing a deal to sign promising Croatia striker Andrej Kramaric

The 23-year-old is currently with Croatian club Rijeka, for whom he has already scored 23 goals this term — but is on his way to the King Power Stadium for a medical.

Kramaric joined Dinamo Zagreb as a six-year-old and made his debut at the age of 17 in 2009 before being shipped out on loan to Lokomotiva Zagreb, where he averaged nearly a goal every two games.

When Kramaric’s return to Dinamo hit the rocks, Rijeka were quick to step in and secure his services in August 2013 — signalling the start of the most fruitful period in the striker’s career and resulting in a full senior debut for Croatia.

Kramaric had been hoping to join Chelsea and go on loan to Leicester, but Football Association rules prevent a club signing a player and loaning him straight out to another Premier League club in the same transfer window.
