Drogs ease past ten-man Cork
Cork City 0 Drogheda United 2
Drogheda showed their champions' form as they bounced back from last week's home loss to Bohemians to inflict a first defeat of the season on Cork City at Turner's Cross.
It all went Drogheda's way early on as they took the lead and Cork had Joe Gamble sent off, all inside two minutes.
A terrific cross in from the left by Joe Kendrick found the head of Richie Baker who planted the ball past Mick Devine to give Drogheda the lead on 15 minutes.
Minutes later Cork were down to ten men when Gamble went in two-footed on Shane Robinson and received a straight red card.
It got no better for Cork as Drogheda scored again on 36 minutes. Baker crossed for Tony Grant, and though the striker's initial shot was parried by Devine, he got a header to the loose ball to set up Aidan O'Keeffe who tapped home.
