Poite to referee Heineken final

FRENCH referee Romain Poite has been handed the whistle for Leinster’s Heineken Cup final against Northampton Saints at the Millennium Stadium on May 21.

The European showpiece in Cardiff will be Poite’s first Heineken Cup final but the Frenchman has often caused a stir in Irish rugby.

Poite gave Leinster’s Ireland props Cian Healy and Mike Ross a tough time at scrum-time in this seasons’s Six Nations opener against Italy in Rome and has also causedcontroversy with his handling of both Leinster and Munster matches in the past.

Ireland’s George Clancy will referee the Amlin final, between Harlequins and Stade Francais, at Cardiff City Stadium on Friday, May 20.

It is the fourth of May, 2007. I am coming home from work, tired and scrolling through images of Trapani, Sicily - our holiday destination in a few weeks. Nothing remarkable about the journey, until I read the story of a missing girl in Praia De Luz, Portugal.Learning Points: Give Madeleine McCann's family the space to put their lives back together
