In-form Glasgow Warriors target another Irish scalp

Glasgow Warriors lay in wait to ambush another Irish side when Leo Cullen’s troops trot out at Scotstoun this afternoon (3pm).

While Glasgow romped to a bonus point win over Connacht at the Sportsground last week, Leinster were less impressive in their home victory over Treviso, so they will surely have to up their performance this afternoon.

With former England head coach Stuart Lancaster since installed as a senior coach at Leinster, they will be boosted by the return from injury of Dave Kearney, who plays on the left wing.

Ross Molony and Mike McCarthy continue in the second row, James Tracy starts in the hooking spot while Jordi Murphy starts in the back row.

However, much interest will be centred around young Joey Carbery who is being given another run at out-half, while another young talent, Garry Ringrose, partners Noel Reid in the middle of the field.

And there is a welcome return after injury among the replacements for second row Mick Kearney.

Gregor Townsend makes two changes in his front row; Fraser Brown replaces Pat MacArthur at hooker and Sila Puafisi comes in for Zander Fagerson at tight-head.

With more than 7,000 tickets sold, the game marks the start of a new era at Scotstoun with the new artificial pitch to be pressed into service for the first time.
