Best gutted by Lions omission

Irish hooker Rory Best says he is dealing with his Lions disappointment by driving Ulster to the RaboDirect PRO12 title.

Best was given a standing ovation at Ravenhill on Friday night as Ulster saw off Scarlets 28-17 to set up a final against Leinster.

Best said he was gutted not to be included in the Lions squad by Warren Gatland.

“It is the pinnacle of your career to be selected for the Lions but unfortunately it wasn’t to be. It was very hard to take.

“But I came back in the following day to training and the boys and the management here in Ulster showed me why I love playing here.
