McNamara in ‘good spirits’

Dr Adrian McGoldrick, senior medical officer of the Turf Club, issued a statement yesterday on behalf of John Thomas McNamara and his family.

McNamara suffered very serious injuries when taking a first-fence fall from Galaxy Rock in the Kim Muir Challenge Cup at the Cheltenham festival in March.

Reported McGoldrick: “J.T. remains in the spinal unit at the Mater Hospital in Dublin.

“He is in good spirits and looking forward to his rehabilitation. His condition is constantly being reviewed by the Mater Hospital, in conjunction with the national rehabilitation unit in Dun Laoghaire, with a view to commencing his rehabilitation in the near future.

“His family would again like to thank everyone for their continued support and prayers.”
