Pacquiao promises bonus of nearly €2,000 euro each to college basketball students

Manny Pacquiao is a really nice guy. and he proved it yet again when he gave college basketball players a ridiculous bonus when they won their league title.

The World champion boxer, who is in the Philippines’ House of Representatives, is also involved in basketball, having invested in the Letran Knights, a college basketball team who participate in the NCAA (Philippines). The Knights this week put an end to their decade long trophy drought when they won the NCAA title in dramatic circumstances, beating San Beda 85-82. Pacquiao, a regular at the games, was in attendance.

After the victory, Pacquiao promised every player on the team P100,000 (Philippine pesos). In euros, that’s €1940.42. Now that may not sound like a lot in euros but remember, this is a college team filled with college students. Imagine getting nearly €2,000 euro to play sport as a college student. That’s the dream. Manny Pacquiao, what a guy.
