Have you made changes? Are you Ireland’s Balance ambassador?

Did you manage to change your work-life balance for the better in 2017? Then you could be the new brand ambassador for the Balance Expo.

Kerry's Donnchadh Walsh, a pioneer of Balance Expo which takes place at the INEC, Killarney next Sunday, Jan 14 at 10am.

The inaugural event is being run by Kerry GAA stars Donnchadh Walsh, John Griffin and James Flaherty and takes place next Sunday at the at the INEC in Killarney.

And the Balance team want to find an inspiring person who can join the panel of experts at the event, which incorporates health, fitness, nutrition and sports.

Speakers already confirmed include Waterford manager Derek McGrath, Kerry footballer Kieran Donaghy and legendary GAA commentator Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh.

There’s cookery author and entrepreneur Roz Purcell, athlete and food writer Derval O’Rourke, fitness experts Siobhan O’Hagan, Joe O’Connor and Shane Finn, as well as performance psychologist Gerry Hussey, and RTÉ presenter and writer Mary Kennedy.

The Balance ambassador who joins them will be “motivated, encouraging and a strong advocate for wellbeing and fitness”.

The team want to meet someone who has “engaged with some or all of these areas in an effort to bring about positive change in their life”.

“You can be nominated by a friend or family member or you can put yourself forward. The judges want to know what challenges you overcame from a nutrition, exercise and general well-being perspective,” said Balance Expo pioneer and Kerry footballer Donnchadh Walsh.

“We want someone who has embraced a balance in their lives, who may have struggled in the past to be fit and healthy and crucially to maintain that lifestyle.  What is equally important is to find someone with a passion for supporting the ideals of fitness, health, nutrition and sports as well as general wellbeing. Ultimately the Balance Ambassador will be able to inspire both scales of ability and will be motivated to share their story and inspire others.

“The Balance Ambassador will bring a unique approach that blends exercise, nutrition and a positive attitude to help people feel their best. So if you think you know someone who could influence and encourage a community through their own lived experience of finding Balance, then please enter.

“The winner will be invited on the main stage to be part of the fitness panel along with Joe O Connor, Shane Finn and Siobhán O Hagan. The Balance Ambassador will be able to share his/her story with the audience as to how they achieved their Balance.

“Not only that, but the winner will receive a spa break for two and one night accommodation at one of Killarney’s premier hotels as well as four tickets to the Balance Expo for family and friends.
