Greg Broderick hot streak at Thermal

Show jumper Greg Broderick continues to make an impression at the HITS Desert Classic in Thermal, California, as he lines up a shot at the AIG $1m Grand Prix tomorrow week.

The Tipperary native finished runner-up in Thursday night’s 1.40m competition with the Elizabeth-Shire-owned gelding MHS Automatic.

Last weekend, Broderick took top prize in the €50,000 Horseware Ireland Grand Prix, with the nine-year-old MHS Going Global against some of America’s finest, including ‘The Master of Faster’ Richard Spooner.

In Florida, Kilkenny’s Richie Moloney placed fourth with the Irish Sport Horse Slieveanorra in the ninth round of the $127,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup

The first of two legs of the Connolly Red Mills/HSI Spring League takes place today at Wexford Equestrian, moving to Killossery Lodge in Dublin tomorrow.
