Crocked Murray skips Madrid

Andy Murray has pulled out of next week’s Masters 1000 tournament in Madrid with a back injury.

The world No 4 will hope to return to action at another Masters event in Rome the following week as he builds up to the Fr ench Open, which begins on May 27.

Murray said: “It is with regret that on doctor’s advice I have to withdraw.”
