Stalwart O’Sullivan passes away

The death has occurred of Phil O’Sullivan, one of the best-known and most popular golfing administrators in Munster for many years.

The late Mr O’Sullivan of Ballintemple, Cork, was father of Irish international golfer and Britain & Ireland Curtis Cup team captain Ada and also of sons Mark, Kieran and Philip, and his other daughter Claire.

He was predeceased by his wife Margaret (nee Horgan).

O’Sullivan, 83, was the founding father of Phil O’Sullivan Electrical Ltd, South Gate Bridge, Cork. A member of Monkstown Golf Club, he was a lover of all sports and was affectionately known to a large number of young golfers who benefited over the years from his guidance, many of whom went on to enjoy success at national and international levels.
