Els set for Hall of Fame induction

ERNIE ELS and former American president George H Bush are to be inducted into golf’s World Hall of Fame.

Ex-Masters champion Doug Ford and the late Jock Hutchison, born in St Andrews and winner of both the Open and US PGA Championship, have also earned election.

Els was chosen with 66% of the vote on the PGA Tour ballot, Ford and Hutchison were selected in the veterans category and Bush, who served as president of the United States from 1989 to 1993, for lifetime achievement. The induction ceremony is set for next May at the World Golf Village in Florida.
