Tyrrell rescues Moores

Sarsfields 1-13 Moorefield 0-16

Kildare SFC final: Adam Tyrrell kicked an injury-time free to rescue Moorefield at the end of a pulsating Kildare SFC final, which will head to a replay next Sunday in Newbridge.

Trailing by five points with seven minutes remaining, the Moores showed just why they are defending champions by producing a final flourish to keep their title ambitions alive.

After an inspirational Ross Glavin point ended a 20-minute scoreless spell for the Moores, they seized the momentum and drew level when Adam Tyrrell converted a tricky free from the right corner in the 62nd minute.

They might even have won it had Eanna O’Connor – son of watching Kerry minor manager Jack – got his last gasp shot off a little quicker but his effort was blocked.
