Second-half scoring surge blows Farney men away
The Farney full-forward was the star of the first half, kicking four points from play and one from a free, to leave his side trailing by just a point, (0-8 to 0-7), at the interval.
But Derry hit five points in as many minutes on the restart and when Conleith Gilligan volleyed into the roof of the net after 49 minutes, there was no way back for the visitors. Gilligan (1-6) and Paddy Bradley (0-7) did the majority of the damage for the Oak Leafers, for whom 10 different players got on the scoresheet.
