Rebels urged to double up for Croker semis

As Cork face into two All-Ireland senior semi-finals in three weeks, county PRO Tracey Kennedy has encouraged supporters to avail of the ticket packages on offer for the games.

The GAA have made available a special Cork semi-final offer of €70 for Cusack Stand tickets to both the hurlers’ game against Galway next Sunday and the footballers’ bout with Donegal on August 26 (€10 for juveniles, 16 or under).

However, Kennedy reports there has been good take-up in the ‘club pass’ packages with €10 Davin Stand tickets available to clubs who purchase between 15 and 50 tickets for All-Ireland quarter-finals and semi-finals.

“It’s a brilliant package and there have been quite a few queries from clubs about going down that route,” she said.

“We didn’t have much time to promote them last week for the quarter-finals but we will be encouraging clubs to take up that offer for both semi-finals.

“There is also the juvenile offer, which is €3 a child [also Davin Stand].”

Despite a small Cork crowd in Croke Park on Sunday, Kennedy doesn’t believe it was a case of people keeping their money for the hurlers’ game this weekend.

However, a sizeable Cork contingent is expected to travel to Croke Park next Sunday as the county aim to reach their first All-Ireland final since 2006.
