Nemo and the Barr’s paired in tie of the round
The football draw paired city rivals Nemo Rangers and St. Finbarr’s together in what is possibly the tie of the round. Nemo club secretary Bernadette Allen said the game will recall some of the very best there had been between the clubs over the years.
“Every team left in the championship will be difficult to beat,” said Bernadette.
“There is healthy rivalry between us and you can expect another close encounter when we meet.”
In the second intermediate hurling grade, neighbours Valley Rovers and Bandon have been drawn together and this will be a game well worth seeing.
In the relegation play offs for senior football, which will be played on a Round Robin system, St. Michael’s face a tricky game against the losers of the Bishopstown/Na Piarsaigh tie, while Mallow were paired against O’Donovan Rossa in their opening game.
The relegation draws in the senior hurling championship sees Killeagh or St. Catherines play Douglas or Castlelyons; while Bride Rovers or Delanys face the losers of Na Piarsaigh or Sarsfields. This is straight knock-out.
