Four scores, just one in the opening 50 minutes, were enough to see Monasterevin home in a quite extraordinary Leinster Club IFC final at Drogheda yesterday.

26 minutes passed before Wayne Fitzpatrick opened the scoring for Monasterevin, the only score in the half.

Wayne McKeever had O’Connell’s first score on 35 minutes and quickly added another, also a free. Salem Rifaie made it 0-3 to 0-1 midway through the half before Anthony Kavanagh reduced the deficit 10 minutes from time.
