McGrath a doubt for Limerick opener

WATERFORD star Ken McGrath is a doubt for the Déise’s Munster championship clash with Limerick on June 14.

McGrath aggravated a hamstring injury at training this week in Waterford, ruling out his participation in tomorrow’s NHL clash with Cork in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

Goalkeeper Clinton Hennessy, though named in the Waterford side, is hoping to overcome an infection to start the game on Leeside. If he cannot start, sub ‘keeper Aidan Power may not make the line-up either, as he is overcoming a knee injury.

Déise fans will be concerned that McGrath, Hennessy and Power shake off those injuries ahead of the championship clash with Limerick in June, but Waterford boss Davy Fitzgerald has better news regarding another long-term absentee.

Tony Browne completed a practice game during the week and appears to be on the road to full recovery.
