Corbett back in training

Lar Corbett’s dramatic hurling u-turn was completed last night when he rejoined the Tipperary senior hurling panel for training in Thurles.

Corbett, 31, announced his return over the weekend, having dropped his quit bombshell last February.

And the 2010 Hurler of the Year turned up for a pitch session at Dr Morris Park looking sharp before the squad moved into the Dome at Semple Stadium for a weights session.

The return of Corbett comes less than two weeks before Tipp begin the defence of their Munster Senior Hurling Championship against Limerick.

Corbett has already stated this week that the provincial quarter-final clash against the Shannonsiders may come too soon, insisting it will take months rather than weeks for him to get up to speed for manager Declan Ryan’s panel.

Corbett, a 2001 and 2010 All-Ireland medallist, will look to regain full fitness ahead of a return which could come against Cork in a potential Munster semi-final next month.
