Ryan Price looks to be Cork’s No.1 after retaining place

Ryan Price would appear to have put himself in pole position to be Cork’s starting goalkeeper for the championship after he was named in the side for tomorrow’s Allianz FL Division 1 clash with Kerry in Tralee (2pm).

While Peadar Healy and his management have rotated netminders during the league, with Ken O’Halloran, Micheál Martin, and Brendan O’Connell having seen game-time, O’Donovan Rossa clubman Price started in the wins over Monaghan and Down and retains his place for the trip to Austin Stack Park.

There is just one change, with Peter Kelleher rested ahead of Thursday’s Munster U21 final against the Kingdom. Daniel Goulding comes into the full-forward line in his stead.

Kerry have made four changes from the win over Monaghan. Brendan Kealy starts in goal in place of Brian Kelly as Eamonn Fitzmaurice continues to rotate, while Killian Young starts his first game since the loss to Roscommon, having recovered from injury, and is picked at centre-back instead of Aidan O’Mahony. Pádraig O’Connor comes in at half-back in place of Fionn Fitzgerald.

Up front, Alan Fitzgerald replaces Darran O’Sullivan. Both O’Sullivan and O’Mahony picked up knocks against Monaghan and were not considered.

Mayo goalkeeper David Clarke makes his first appearance since the All-Ireland quarter-final against Donegal as they make four changes for the clash with already-relegated Down.

Kevin Keane, Shane Nally, and Cillian O’Connor also come in for the Connacht side, who need a win to avoid relegation. Injured pair Ger Cafferkey and Donal Vaughan, and Diarmuid O’Connor (U21 commitments) and goalkeeper Robert Hennelly make way.
