Offaly impress against Maynooth University

Offaly 1-17 Maynooth University 0-03: Offaly rounded off their O’Byrne Cup campaign in style at O’Connor Park yesterday, winning by 17 points — their largest winning margin since beating Kilkenny in the 2010 O’Byrne Cup.

Bernard Allen kicked two points to open the scoring but with the aid of a stiff breeze, Maynooth drew level at 0-3 midway through the half. Offaly pushed on and the result was assured by the time Willie Mulhall hit the net with 20 minutes to play.
