North Kerry final postponed

The North Kerry SFC final which was due to be played yesterday at the Frank Sheehy Park in Listowel between Beale and Duagh was called off following a pitch inspection yesterday morning.

The short statement from the North Kerry Board stated: "Due to the amount of rain that had fallen, the pitch is not playable and for the safety of players and spectators, the North Kerry Championship final is off."

It brought an angry reaction from football supporters on the football board’s Facebook page with most questioning whether the pitch in Listowel was ever going to be playable as it was doubtful over the weekend and with a poor forecast, fans wanted an earlier decision, to allow players a chance to enjoy the festive period.

The match has now been rescheduled for this coming Sunday, December 30, at Frank Sheehy Park, Listowel with a 2.30pm throw in.
