Knee op won’t keep Counihan off the sideline

Conor Counihan is likely to patrol the sideline for Cork’s Munster SFC semi-final against Kerry despite a recent knee operation.

County PRO Tracey Kennedy yesterday confirmed the Aghada man recently underwent surgery to clear up a cartilage problem.

A photograph in yesterday’s Irish Examiner showed Counihan on crutches at an intermediate hurling game between his club and Fermoy in Ballynoe.

“Conor had a knee operation a few weeks ago, nothing major, just cartilage,” said Kennedy. The counties clash on Jun 10.
