Aidan Walsh makes debut as Kerry make seven changes

Aidan Walsh of St Mary’s makes his league debut as Kerry make seven changes for tomorrow’s Allianz FL Division 1 clash with Down at Páirc Esler in Newry (2pm).

With both sides having lost their opening two games, the game is crucial and Kerry manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice has drastically remodelled his side.

Brendan Kealy takes over from Brian Kelly in goal, Marc Ó Sé comes into the full-back line for his first game of the season in place of his Gaeltacht clubmate Briain Ó Beaglaóich. Padraig O’Connor is named in the half-back line as Paul Murphy moves to midfield with Fionn Fizgerald replacing Killian Young while captain Bryan Sheehan takes over from Johnny Buckley at midfield.

Walsh is chosen instead of Jonathan Lyne, Murphy replaces Barry John Keane and Alan Fitzgerald of Castlegregory is at full-forwars as Barry John Keane drops to the bench, where Kieran Donaghy, Colm Cooper and Peter Crowley are included.

Down have six changes as Michael Cunningham, Luke Howard, Darren O’Hagan, Mark McKay, Conor Maginn and Barry O’Hagan all come in, replacing Stephen Kane, Malachy Magee, Ryan Boyle, Michael Hughes, Henry Brown and Shay McArdle.

Former Cork captain Michael Shields is named at centre-back for the clash with Roscommon as the Rebels make five changes. Eoin Cadogan, who missed the Donegal loss after suffering a concussion against Mayo, comes into the full-back line, as does James Loughrey, with goalkeeper Ken O’Halloran and wing-forward Luke Connolly also restored. Brendan O’Connell, Jamie O’Sullivan, Kevin Crowley, Kevin O’Driscoll and Donal Óg Hodnett miss out.

Dublin go for their third win against Monaghan and they have three changes, with Cian O’Sullivan, Paul Flynn and Cormac Costello replacing Jonny Cooper, Ciarán Kilkenny and Paul Mannion.

Mayo have two switches for the meeting with Donegal. Lee Keegan and Keith Higgins return after injury, with Caolán Crowe and Donal Vaughan the players replaced.
