Erin’s Own see off brave Bride test

Though they twice held decent advantages, Erin’s Own were left hanging on at the finish against Bride Rovers in Carrigtwohill last night

An early Jack Sheehan goal gave them a perfect start but Bride Rovers battled back and led by Brian Murphy, hit a succession of points by the impressive Jason Mannix.

Eoghan Murphy goaled for Erin’s Own but Bride came again to leave the sides locked at the break, 2-4 to 0-10.

Murphy rifled over four points without reply on the resumption but Peter Kelly denied the losers a certain goal with a last-ditch save.

Sean Ryan almost snatched it at the death for Bride but his effort went just over.
