Early start for Offaly-Wexford

THE Leinster Council have changed the time of Offaly and Wexford’s SFC clash to avoid the Champions League final.

The match was originally scheduled to take place during the game between Manchester United and Barcelona but has now been moved to a 5pm throw-in at Tullamore. GAA President Christy Cooney told county boards and provincial councils the decision was theirs to make, following disappointing spectator numbers at previous matches that clashed with major sporting events.
