Darragh returns as Ó Sé brothers lift Gaeltacht
His brothers, Marc and Tomás, impressed for the victors as did Ronan Ó Flathárta who had the better of the exchanges with Kerry senior Bryan Sheehan. An Ghaeltacht led 0-4 to 0-2 at the break having played with a strong wind but they defended heroically after three massive Sheehan points levelled the contest (0-9 apiece) with five minutes left.
However, with the Ó Sé’s leading by example, An Ghaeltacht finished in style as two late points from Ó Flathárta and Daithi MacGearailt set up a semi-final meeting with Milltown/Castlemaine who defeated John Mitchels (0-15 to 1-9).
Currow face Waterville in the other semi. Currow, thanks to the dominance of Seamus Scanlon at midfield, defeated Skellig Rangers 2-4 to 1-5 while late points from Stephen O’Dwyer helped Waterville to a four point win over Spa (1-10 to 1-6).
In the senior grade Mike Frank Russell impressed as Laune Rangers defeated St Michaels/Foilmore 1-8 to 0-10 to set up a semi-final with Kerins O’Rahillys. The Strand Road outfit defeated Dingle 0-12 to 0-11.
Dr Crokes and Rathmore will meet in the other semi.
In the junior grade, Declan O’Sullivan inspired Division Three side Dromid Pearses to a 2-10 to 1-11 win over Division Two outfit Kenmare. Glenbeigh/Glencar defeated a fancied St Pat’s 2-5 to 0-9 with an injury time goal.
