Darby wins it for Offaly

Leitrim 0-8 Offaly 0-9
Brian Darby’s injury-time point secured victory for Offaly in yesterday’s ill-tempered Allianz FL Division four game at Carrick-on-Shannon.

Both teams ended with 14 players Offaly’s Peter Cunningham and Leitrim’s Gerry Hickey being dismissed.

Playing against the breeze Leitrim led by 0-4 to 0-3 at the interval with Wayne McKeon kicking an early point while Emlyn Mulligan added two more shortly after.

Offaly were on level terms within three minutes of the break after a fine Brian O’Connor effort.

It was tit for tat after that with Darby claiming victory for Offaly at the end.
