Colm Cooper a step closer to Kerry comeback

COLM Cooper has completed a small but significant stage in his rehabilitation from a cruciate ligament tear.

Cooper stepped up his recovery by playing a part in a full-contact inter-squad game in Killarney on St Patrick's morning, lining out at centre half forward.

Cooper moved well in the match and suffered no injury setbacks.

Kerry manager Eamonn Fitzmaurice has yet to target a specific date for Gooch's competitive return from the serious knee injury, sustained with his club Dr Crokes over 13 months ago.
