Bookies pay out on Louth punts

SOME of the country’s leading bookmaking firms are paying out on both Louth and Meath winning yesterday’s Leinster SFC final.

The Royals snatched victory with a Joe Sheridan goal which handed them a 1-10 to 1-12 win. Replays showed the goal should have been disallowed as the ball was thrown over the goal-line.

Boylesports, Paddy Power and Ladbrokes last night announced plans to pay out on a win for backers of both teams. Boylesports spokesman Leon Blanche said: “It will be a costly move, approaching a six-figure sum.”

Meanwhile Boylesports last night quoted odds of 5/2 on the game being replayed, with Paddy Power going 15/8.
